The final league tables are now out and our recurve and compound teams didn’t do as well this year, but the longbow team have finished top of their division.Final Selby tables 2011

The results for June were a bit disappointing, as we lost both the Recurve matches and the Compound match.The Longbow team, however had better luck as their opposing team Harlequin, did not put in a score.
The results for July should all be in soon, but in the meantime, we have another match this sunday ( 14th August ), so I hope as many as possible will turn up to shoot. Please arrive early to help set up, as the match should start by 10am.

The Selby results for May are now all in and it’s wins for Recurve A and Longbow, but losses for Compound and Recurve B.
The next match will be on sunday 19th June. Full results are :-

The Selby League starts again in May and for those that don’t know, Recurve Teams (3 archers) and Compound Teams (2 archers), shoot a Short Metric and Longbow Teams (2 archers) shoot a National. We have 1 Compound Team in division 1, 2 Recurve in divisions 6 and 11 and 1 Longbow in division 6. The proposed dates for shooting each month will be put on the shooting calendar, but I’ll also tell everyone over the field. As with the winter postals, everyone can shoot the round with the highest scoring archers being picked for the teams. The Short Metric is 3dozen @ 50m, 3dozen@30m on an 80cm face and The National is 4doz @ 60yds, 2dozen @ 50yds on a 122cm face.

The first match will be on sunday May 15th, starting about 9.45am, so please be over the field by 9.0 to 9.15am, to help set up.

Well done to the recurve team. 5 out of 5 for the Selby league. Second year now we have won.

The Compound A Team finished 2nd and the B team finished 4th. The A team scored more points but lost a match.

The longbow team also finished 4th.

Here are the final positions from the summer Selby league 

The recurve and compound teams were unbeaten.

What a good result for the first year. Well done bob for all you hard work.

We had a clean sweep in August, with compounds beating Monklands C by 1273 – 1206, longbows winning 328 – 0 against Lichfield who didn’t get a score and recurves beating league- leaders Wolverhampton B 1597 – 1575. Both compounds  and recurves are now top of their divisions, with just the september shoot to do.

We still haven’t managed to shoot the Selby for July, so if anyone wishes to do it on Sunday 26th, please be over the field by 9.15 am for a 10 am start.

I’ll try to be there early, but can’t stay to shoot, as Emily has a competition in Berkshire.

Hopefully, this time we can do all bow types on the same day.
